Pennington Family Foundation Great Performers in Concert Series

Pennington Family Foundation Great Performers in Concert Series started in 2003 as a casual conversation between two friends and has become a local event widely respected throughout the world of both classical and popular music.

This series has brought the world's best musical talent to the capital region, including CHICAGO, Chris Botti, Itzhak Perlman, and Renée Fleming. It holds an annual gala concert, which benefits the Baton Rouge Symphony.

Other performers have included Diana Ross, Trisha Yearwood, Lang Lang, and Kristin Chenoweth. The goal of the series is to showcase our local symphony while sharing this extraordinary music with our community. Funds from these events have supported local musical youth programs such as school outreach and discovery concerts presented by the Baton Rouge Symphony. In 2024, the symphony will celebrate its 25th Pennington Family Foundation Great Performers in Concert with world-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma. {Learn More}
